Have you ever desired to have your own space in the internet, but were too lazy to make YouTube videos? Then, blogging is just for you.I'm here to guide you so you can throw your first blogging steps firmly. I'm going to also share with you funny stories about my blogging experience. So stick with me :)

FIRST THINGS FIRST
In the beginning, every single thing seems overwhelming. All these blogs, all these tips.It seems endless.
What I did, though, was keeping a notebook specified for my blog.
On this notebook,I kept my:

  • blog ideas
  • traffic sources
  • tips from other bloggers
  • props for pictures that I should buy
  • traffic growth within days, weeks, and months.

- which is something I would request you to keep, because you can't exactly remember every information you've gathered about blogging. My tips could go straight to your notebook as well.;)
Now get cozy,as I'm about to touch the most common subjects about blogging and what you should know.

1.Theme
The theme has an important value in your blog, because it's the visual that represents you and attracts people. In the beginning, you're going to be really confused but trust me,it's going to be okay.
Now,depending on what platform you use for your blog (Blogger, Wordpress, etc), there are different types of themes that are offered by the platforms themselves, but sadly they reflect not a bit of your personality. To know how to set up your theme, you should know a little bit about coding.
Here is a free course that I'm taking for HTML and CSS : Click here
But if you want to know how to apply a free theme that you found online, you should watch this video for Blogger, and this for Wordpress.
Like I said,as a beginner, you don't really need to worry about the theme / nor be frustrated (just like I was ),because eventually, your knowledge in the blogging world will expand and your content will be better.
However, before starting your blog,I'd recommend you to pick a color scheme for your blog,as it's very important to have a coordination of colors in your blog.Check out mine:

You can find a lot of palettes online,so this isn't a problem, but it's just a highly recommended thing to do before starting.(As well as picking the font you're sticking with, too!). Here's just a few I found:

Fancy,right?
I'd suggest focusing on the theme a bit more, because it really does reflect your personality and besides, customizing it in your own taste is really,REALLY fun!

2.The actual blogposts
Of course that as much as the physics matter, the inside is what people come for! And by inside,I mean your content,of course.
First of all,you need to figure yourself out. What do you want to blog about?
Poetry? Music? DIY? Make-up? All at once?
Your content is what makes your blog your blog.
Here is what I'd recommend (always) doing in a blogpost:

  1. Make the content as rich with things as possible (and as long as possible, too)
  2. Make sure you use some fancy words here and there
  3. Make sure to reflect yourself and your personality
  4. Leave your social media buttons/links at the end of the blogpost
  5. Make it easy to share
  6. .Divide it into sectors (don't just write a huge paragraph and hit publish).

Besides all of these, think about the purpose your blogpost has. Will it help anyone? Will someone enjoy it? Think about how happy you're gonna make some people, and the role model you're being.
Based on that,share kindness around.

3.Photos,their quality and editing
Now,this is where most beginners slip.(Me too,me too!)
Photography is something most of bloggers are passionate about. However, not all of us have the right equipment for the most high quality pictures, because let's be real, not all us are rich.
It does NOT mean you cannot take pictures and go after your dreams.
Grab a phone,an old camera, anything! As long as it doesn't make the picture look like a potato of course.
Do not let the fact that your pictures aren't taken with a Canon destroy your dreams. Do what you can with what you have, and the rest will arrive with your hard work!
Editing is also really important. As a beginner, each blogger makes the mistake of over-saturating their photo edits. I would recommend only adding a light chic/urban filter and adding brightness and a bit of saturation, and lowering the contrast a little bit. That's what I usually do.I edit my pics using Spinly on my phone and Photoscape on the computer.
If you're wondering, here's a comparison of my first (ever) blogpost edit and my latest blogpost edit:
I had the tendency to write a watermark over my pictures...I wouldn't recommend you to do that.
Not only it ruins the picture (as you can see, mine was HUGE), but as a beginner, you wouldn't really need the watermark.
Another thing to remark about photography are props. Don't forget to add them to your pictures!
Props can be anything from flowers to nail polish,make-up,notebooks,tea,coffee, heck I could go on!
If you don't know what they are, props are basically things that are useless in the picture but they make it more attractive. For example:
This picture is from Hello Gwen, and she made a whole blogpost about props, which you can read here.
And one last thing about photography: the background.
I can't stress it enough how important the background is.Take a little time of your day to find a cute fabric, rug, wood, paper, anything that could be used as a background. There is a lot of amazing materials laying around your house.
HINT : I once used a fluffy pillow as a background because it looked like a fur rug. ;)

4.Getting an audience
You can't expect to have 1,000 followers on your first day, right? But,you can give yourself a little exposure as a headstarter.
To begin, you need to set your social media up. Twitter, instagram and pinterest are a MUST.
After setting up your profile, start following bloggers.Either go search by the hashtag #blogger, or just find a blogger and start following other bloggers on her "Following/Followers" lists.
Make sure to follow small bloggers, too - they return your follow as well.
Using this technique you can get to 100 followers really fast.
Social media is the key to blogger exposure. That's why you should use it constantly and consistently.
When you post, make sure to tag relevant accounts (for instance, company of the product in the picture) and to use hashtags.
Leave comments on other blogger's instapics and blogposts too, linking back to your blog.
Now,the sites that give me the biggest audience are Facebook and Reddit.
Facebook has groups,as you know, and there are A LOT of bloggers' groups, containing over 1,000 bloggers who interact with each other and share their own links.
Here are a few Facebook groups you MUST join :

AND that was what I had in store for you!
Oh,and another thing. This is my new blog schedule, from now on:

To subscribe, you need to scroll to the bottom and a pop-up will pop-up.(I'm all the way pop-up )

As a beginner in the blogging world,I was very confused with the theme and HTML.I had no idea what I was doing,I just knew I enjoyed doing it.I remember on my first theme I didn't even know how to change the picture in the sidebar. It was a random woman! But after watching tons of tutorials,I started getting the hang of it,and now I can't believe I'm the one doing a tutorial.! So for today,I'll be covering the topic of the sidebar buttons.
They play a huge importance in our blogs, because not only they attract the readers with their beauty and general matching to the theme, but they also allow us to link them anywhere and increase the blog traffic in other social media.
To begin with, you're going to design your button. As for me,I have a free program installed on my computer called PhotoScape, which I do most of my editing on.But,for buttons I'd recommend using canva ,which by the way,is also helpful for graphic design in all shapes and forms.
You can also use Picmonkey,Fotor,or BeFunky!
Using canva,I made this button:

You can take inspiration from other bloggers and how they design their social media buttons, such as cuteinstgram's ones:
But your creative soul isn't made JUST for social media buttons. You can do buttons for all kinds!Your badge,a quote,a link to your shop or your other blog, the options are really endless!
However, where most beginners are stuck on,is how to make your link pop up once you click on the button.
This is how I do it:
First of all,I upload my button picture anywhere. It doesn't matter:  facebook, twitter, photobucket, anywhere just so I can get the image address.
Then I turn it into a html code that goes like :

<a href="https://YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA LINK" target="_blank"><img src="https://YOUR IMAGE LINK"/></a>

For example, this is my instagram button html code:

<a href="http://www.instagram.com/mypastelworld1" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o760/dreamerandblogger/mpuq%20e%20ki3_zps3no98ssm.png"/></a>

And then, you take this html code, copy it,and go to your blog layout (on blogger).
You're going to click the "Add A Gadget" and then a list will pop up.
And then you're going to select "HTML/JavaScript",paste the code and the button will be there!
Have fun using this method!

By the way, full credits to [this video] that helped me figure out how to do my social media buttons and then I took it off on a spin.

I hope I was a little useful to any of you!Make sure to let me know if you make a button using my tutorials.XOXO

Spring is all around the corner, and we need to get ready to write new posts related to it!As a blogger,I like writing about seasons.I don't know about other bloggers, but I enjoy it so much. For today's post,I'm going to show you my fellow bloggers some must haves for the season of spring.
And if you are reading this and you don't have a blog, what are you waiting for?Go create it! Let's just get into it without a further ado.
Photography is key to blogging success. To add the spring vibe, make sure you own the right props.By saying the right props I mean:
-flowers (fake or real ones)
-light colored perfumes
-flower themed notebooks,magazines,fabric
But flowers are surely a MUST because that's what represents spring.
The second one in the list is a blog notebook.I mean,it doesn't cost much and it really helps especially when you find helpful blogging sites/advice and you gotta write it down.On top of every page I write the current blog views,so when I write the next page I see the progress I've made.I like to write a lot of stuff in there, such as:post ideas, post schedule, props, background ideas, facebook group names, pinterest tips, websites to connect with bloggers, other bloggers' sites etc.I highly recommend owning a notebook like this.
The cardboard is necessary for photographs, considering it reduces the shadow and makes the photograph lighter.Plus you can DIY it.Look at my board,it's clearly made of wood and I spray-painted it gold. Not only it works as a cardboard, but as a background too:
I think cardboards are easy to find/make.You just need to put something heavy behind it to give support and nothing more.Easy peasy.

That was it for today's post my fellow bloggers.I hope you enjoyed this post.Make sure to comment if you want me to post more blogging tips. Also stay tuned because a spring must haves is coming!
All the love,
A My Pastel World citizen.x

Hi guys! This time I'm back with another idea which poped up while showing you my cookbook , and it is: How to use plain notebooks! :D I mean come on,we all have found notebooks from years ago that aren't used and we were forced to throw them out. NO! This time you won't throw them out-you'll use them to release your creativity with a pencil.Without being sad, let's just get straight into it:)
1. A design sketchbook. :) This is mine.Don't worry if you don't draw well, who the hell cares, just try and design some cute outfits there.Because I thought you might be curious,I decided to share my worst design ever:
Lmao you also get to see a design in the back XD You see,I don't draw faces really well but I just don't care,I go with the flow:p.So this was the first idea. And oh,make sure to design your cover because duh it's a design sketchbook :p x
2.A journal - and by journal I don't mean a "diary" , I mean a notebook where you write,sketch,scrap and do everything on your style! :) My journal is called "My World in a notebook" bc I thought it was a good representation of what this notebook is/what I use it for.Here's one of my pages;
The day after I created this blog haha. And there's my old theme drawn on the screen of the laptop XD. But also you don't need to draw nor color ; there are a lot of journal ideas on pinterest so search for those ideas (challenges and stuff). Great way to pour your creativity and personality at once in a notebook. :) x
3. A cook book..Here's mine:p You might recognize this from the last post (it looked prettier there ha). Anw,search up for easy recipes, find them and write them down! :) Such an amazing way to use notebooks and to reveal the love for cooking heh. Some of the recipes written inside this cook book might come out as a blogpost.^u^
4.A planner! :D [my pen got lost so I had to write with a green marker just to show you guys the idea xD) Personalize it however you want. For mine,I wrote Date in the top and then a to-do list just below. At the right side I wrote -workout and a square next to it so I can check it[tick it] after I work out:3 Also in the right bottom corner I wrote Water Glasses and like 8 or 9 squares so I can tick after I drink one glass.I need to finish all the squares daily in order to progress :) However you could leave a blank space and just decorate on it and write,it's all up to you. It's the idea that counts ha ;p
5.Last but not the least — write a book on it.lmao. I'm not joking,it could turn into a worldwide famous book^u^ I started writing this bc I was bored ha [feel free to read this crap xp] but anyways, maybe you have better writing skills than me :) It's always worth a try.Or maybe try writing poems if you have more talent on this option.

~You could also use the notebook as a diary, there's nothing wrong with it.Or something you're really passionate about (design, writing, cooking, blogging, etc.)~

That's it for today loves! Hope you enjoyed and make sure to follow me on bloglovin or blogger to keep up with my posts.
XOXO.
Hi guys! So,on saturday me and my bff are going running. To be more exact,we are gonna run to a park and then do some work-outs there :) So,I got so excited and I decided to get things ready. And then an idea popped into my head;to show you those things x Also, get ready because on saturday/sunday I'm gonna post some work-outs that we're gonna shoot in the park :D And I'm soo excited about that.Without a further do,let's get into this post! *woooooooosh*
~Make sure you have a comfy outfit. It matters A LOT..I picked this tank top to run and work-out with, because it's soft and soo comfortable, plus it lets my body breath and feel the air. It's also really cute x So before picking,I'd suggest you to try on the clothes so you can pick which is comfier. For the pants,I picked some yoga pants of mine, which are as comfy as this tank top :) (sorry for using the word 'comfy' too much oops :p)
~Accessories are also really important. For example;a headband that makes your hair prettier is really nice x Or a "bracelet" (if we can call it that) that is sweatproof is also so amazing! I use it to wip off the sweat off my face! But it's also pretty and it's pastel so double points go to that.!
~You MUST wear sneakers or maybe flip-flops that make ya feel comfortable.I'd recommend Nike, but for the moment,I don't have any pair of 'em.Still tho,I feel blessed for those cuties you see in this photo x But make sure that your sneakers are tight enough (because being too loose it's SO annoying) but also make sure they fit perfectly so they don't hurt your feet when you are running.
~ALWAYS make sure to check the weather. This site is called accuweather.com and it tells the weather worldwide so..:) It's also very correct! I always check it because it's simply 90% correct.I was checking the weather for saturday,I was a bit disappointed at first, but then I checked the 'hourly' section and saw that the morning will be mostly sunny..NEVER EVER forget to check the weather, cause it might be rainy and that would suck if you didn't know earlier. :)
~Me and my bff are also gonna have a little picnic and stuff,so if you are going to the park the way I am,then, gurl, you must bring a bag.The size of it doesn't matter, pick the bag that can fit in the things you need. After all,I'm gonna show you what to put there bc why not?(which are also essentials) haha x :)
1.The most obvious thing—WATER.You'll need it after you sweat a lot so it's really handy and helpful.I'm gonna take two bottles of water cause I know one won't be enough after all hah.But yeah, water is a must-have at running and/or work-out(ing) !!
2.Don't forget to bring hair clips and elastic bands! They are also a MUST because you get sweaty and you need to take the hair off your face. But you also have the other option;tie your hair in a bun or ponytail and you'll avoid taking them with yourself ;) xo
3.Never forget to bring money.I didn't have a lot of money to take photo of,so here's this little cutie ha :)
You'll never know if you need them but bring them in any case..For example if you're coming back from the park and you see a food store, you'll 99.9% stop to buy any food or ice cream ;) So it's better to take them with you because everything might happen..x
4.Deodorant,obviously.After you get sweaty, you smell terrible so VOILA! just take the deodorant from your backpack, hide in a bush and spray :p It's really useful, too. Now I'll mention a few things things you  ALSO need that I didn't take a photo of (oops).
5.Of course-phone and headphones to listen to ya fav songs.BUT,if you are in the park with a friend, don't EVER take the headphones with you cause let me tell you,it's kinda rude. You make your friend feel like you're avoiding him/her and you don't want to talk to them while working out.But if you're alone, then take them! ;)
6.Also,you need wet wipes,to wip off the sweat of ur skin. x
